Family

A family:
God’s dream for us

One prayed in Rome, staring at the ceiling. The other prayed in Manchester, looking out of an office window. Neither of them knew the other existed.

Rosita and Samuele with their daughters, Saragrace and Christelle

Hello, we are Rosita and Samuele, and these are our daughters, Saragrace and Christelle. A few years ago neither this family nor our marriage existed. In truth, the two of us did not really exist either: without knowing the Creator, nobody really knows who they are, or what they came to do on this earth.

So we went round the world, each of us on our own business, trying to enjoy the best this life can offer and looking for a meaning to the life itself. Until, with one of us in Rome and the other in Manchester, something extraordinary happened. We prayed.

Rosita prayed staring at her bedroom ceiling. Samuele, he tells me, prayed looking out of his office window. We prayed in our own words, we talked with real feeling, turning to a God we did not know well but hoped was truly there and was interested in us.

One thing we needed

We had one great need: to feel again that sense of peace and lightness we had as children and had not felt for a very long time. We needed help to sort out the many messes we had made, and to go back to dreaming of things that were good and bright.

That is how those words, in the same year and more or less the same season, arrived in Heaven. God found a way to answer us: to lead us to His house, the church, to heal us and put us back together, and then to introduce us to each other so we could carry on hand in hand.

Fourteen years on from our wedding, we have lived so many adventures and challenges together that God decided we could share the road with anyone building a family, whether they started last month or thirty years ago.

Where you will find us

You will find us among children, parents, teachers and educators. Always busy putting together something that teaches, praying to take new ground, and trying to save a marriage that is about to go under.

Kids Ministry and the family

Sunday mornings have a whole service for children while the adults are in theirs, and the four age bands run from walking age to twenty-nine.

Come and see for yourself

Sundays at 11am, Lifegroups midweek, and a pastor who will happily buy you a coffee and answer anything you want to ask.
