Generosity
builds this

Every chair, every coffee, every kids worker's DBS check, every pound of rent in South London. It exists because people who believe in this church decided to fund it.

The church community together
Why we give

Not a fee. Not pressure.

We give because God gave first, and because generosity is one of the clearest ways a person stops being ruled by money.

Giving in this church is worship, not membership. You will never be billed, chased or publicly named, and nothing about your welcome here depends on it. If you are visiting, please don't give: come and eat our biscuits instead.

But if this is your church, or you believe South London should have one like it, then giving regularly is the single most practical thing you can do. It is what turns a launch into a permanent home.

How to give

Three ways

Bank transfer costs us nothing in fees and is the best option for regular giving. Card is the quickest if you are giving once.

01

Bank transfer / standing order

No processing fees, so 100% reaches the church. Ideal for monthly giving: set it up once and forget it.

02

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay

Handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details, and it takes about a minute. If you would rather give every month, a standing order costs the church nothing in fees.

Stripe's fee is roughly 1.5% + 20p on UK cards.

03

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 you give, at no cost to you. A £50 gift becomes £62.50.

You need to have paid enough UK Income or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount claimed. One declaration covers past four years and all future gifts.

Fill this in once and we can claim Gift Aid on everything you have given in the past four years and everything you give from now on.

Please notify us if you want to cancel this declaration, change your name or home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains. Email sabaothlondon@gmail.com.

Fair questions

Money and churches have a complicated history. Ask us anything: these are the questions we get most.

Email the giving team →

In this first phase, the large majority goes to two things: the cost of the Sunday venue in South London, and getting the ministries running: kids work, Lifegroups, English Conversation and outreach. The rest covers essentials like insurance, safeguarding checks, sound equipment and the pastoral team's support.

Spending is set by the church leadership together with the wider Sabaoth Church network, and the accounts are reviewed independently. No single person, including the pastors, can move church money alone. Every payment needs two approvals.

No. Any support paid to the pastoral team is set by the governing body of the church, not by the pastors themselves, and it is reported in the annual accounts.

Yes. Annual accounts are published once we complete our first full financial year, and they will be linked from this page. In the meantime, ask and we will walk you through the numbers in person.

Yes. Add a reference to your transfer (for example "BUILD" for the building fund or "KIDS" for children's ministry) and we will restrict it to that purpose. If a fund is ever oversubscribed we will contact you before using it elsewhere.

Completely. Individual giving is visible only to the person who processes it and is never discussed with the pastoral team in a way that could influence how you are treated. We never publish names or amounts.

A standing order is yours to control in your banking app, and you do not need to tell us. For a recurring card gift, use the link in your Stripe receipt or email sabaothlondon@gmail.com and we will cancel it the same week. No questions, no follow-up call.

Don't give. Come and talk to us instead. That is not a polite formula, it is the actual instruction. If you are in real difficulty, tell a pastor: the church has help available and it stays confidential.

Thank you
